STANDARD RADIAL SEAL FILTERS
Inadequate air filtration can reduce horsepower, rob performance, and ultimately damage your engine. Cat air filters feature a radial seal design that provides a better seal and easier servicing than conventional axial seal air filters. By preventing dirt, soot, sand, and other contaminants from entering your system, Cat Standard Radial Seal Filters help you lower maintenance costs and service time.
STOP CONTAMINATION BEFORE IT STOPS YOU
Contaminants can be as abrasive as the materials used to machine parts in the manufacturing process, so it’s important to remove as many contaminants as possible before the fuel reaches critical components. Fuel system contaminants are known to cause premature injector wear, reduce component life, reduce performance and cause sudden injector seizure.
Abrasive contaminants of only 5-10 microns and larger can damage injectors by breaking down the fluid film between moving parts and eventually scratching injector plungers and barrels, causing metal-to-metal contact and injector seizure. As little as one spoonful of dirt in a tank of unfiltered fuel can ruin a fuel injector in less than eight hours.
STANDARD FLUID FILTERS
Cat standard fluid filters are designed to maintain system cleanliness and are manufactured to meet the most demanding specifications, providing increased performance and lower costs.
IMPROVED FILTRATION FOR A CLEANER ENGINE Two new oil filters increase contamination control performance providing for a much cleaner running engine lubrication system. The Cat 1R-1807 and 1R-1808 Advanced Efficiency Engine Oil Filters contain an improved high-efficiency filter media to accumulate dirt more quickly while maintaining excellent dirt holding capacity. They offer better filtration efficiency than standard oil filters, improved engine cleanliness, and component life.
CONTAMINATION CONTROL CAPABILITY
To increase contamination control capability, the Cat Advanced Efficiency Engine Oil Filter combines improved filtration efficiency, excellent dirt holding capacity and low pressure drop characteristics. The improved filtration efficiency of the 1R-1807 and 1R-1808 filters over the corresponding standard efficiency filters results in less wear on oil-lubricated engine parts. Further, the condition of the oil as determined by S-O-S Analysis, and not filter capacity, is the major factor in determining the recommended oil change interval.
CONSISTENT QUALITY FROM FILTER TO FILTER
Caterpillar engineers its fluid filters to avoid metal contaminants, leaks, and pleat bunching and movement. All Cat fluid filters have:
- Properly cured filter media for long performance and life
- Spiral roving and beading for pleat stability to better trap and hold particles
- One-piece molded urethane end caps to eliminate leaks
- Strong nylon center tubes to prevent metal contamination
- A heavy gauge canister for structural strength
- One-piece aluminum base plate
Caterpillar manufactures over 80 percent of its fluid filters on an automated assembly line, eliminating virtually all human handling. This strict quality control eliminates variation from part to part.
